When In Doubt, Write A Cookbook

It's been a long time since I last posted on this blog. My feature film, "The Grid: Zombie Outlet Maul" was released. I wrote numerous other screenplays, and two of them have since been produced.
This is all good news, right? Okay, sure. But being a screenwriter in L.A. can be oppressive. Unless you're writing for a show, or got your foot in the door to write a major feature film, you really have to stay creative in order not to go stagnant.

Enter 2015, when my blood pressure was at an all-time high and my doctor "suggested" I try a low carb diet for 80% of the time. Little did he know, I'm an expert dieter. I've done them all: The egg diet, the cabbage soup diet, low fat, Atkins. You name it.

So, I dove right in and found out my cooking skills (which made me overweight to begin with) would come in really handy when trying to be creative on what will probably my new lifestyle... Permanently. But, I like it!

I launched my website, www.carbsnetcarbs.net during the Spring and released my cooking workbook, "Carbs Net Carbs" on July 4th. It seemed like a great day to proclaim my independence from sugars and starches, and to share my experiments, which did not fail while I converted many old family recipes into low carb and some ketogenic safe meals.

I self-published the book on Createspace.com; hired a guy on Fiverr to design the cover and off we went. This was not my first self-publishing rodeo, so it was fairly simple and inexpensive to set up.
If anyone is interested, I may post the entire process in a future post.
